* A big crowd sparks the Bears over the nation's No. 2 team.
The Washington University women's basketball team borrowed the pep band from neighboring University City High for its game Friday in the sectionals of the Division III tournament.
As if they or the 2,814 in attendance needed any whipping up. The top- ranked Bears came out like a bunch of Energizer bunnies in an 81- 63 victory over Wisconsin-Eau Claire, ranked second nationally.
Beating the drum the loudest was junior forward Tasha Rodgers, who scored 28 points and keyed drives early and late in the game. When necessary, she handed off to Alia Fischer, who scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
