WOMEN'S FINAL FOUR NOTEBOOK
Louisiana Tech coach Leon Barmore's exit from the coaching ranks earlier this week was a blow to the program, which has extended its season into the Final Four 10 times in 18 years under his direction.
But the departure of Barmore is seen as a loss to another group. He was one of four men who coached teams in the women's Sweet 16 this year, and many male coaches in the sport lament the decline in their numbers in recent years, particularly among top teams.
Only two men have coached their teams to a national championship since the NCAA took over the sport: Barmore in 1988 and Connecticut's Geno Auriemma in 1995.
