John M. Thomas, the 84-year-old retired vice president of Price Company, said he was skeptical at first about the tower that Frank Lloyd Wright designed. "Hal Price ... was a fine man and treated me like a son. He wanted that building to be a monument to the work our company had done, laying a pipeline through Alaska. I have to admit, I didn't agree with him about the tower. I thought at the time it was a waste of money, and when it got built it was hard to work in. Now when I drive into Bartlesville and I see the Tower, I realize that Mr. Price knew what he was doing.
