Katahdin High School, Stacyville
STACYVILLE - Graduation exercises will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Katahdin High School gymnasium. Class night will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, at the gym.
Joanna Heath, daughter of Stephen and Rhoda Heath of Stacyville, is valedictorian of the Class of 2001 at Katahdin High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and student council, a member of the French Club and took part in Cougarfest all four years. She sang in chorus four years and was chosen All-Aroostook two years. She is active in church, including vacation Bible school, church nursery, junior church and youth group. She will attend Gordon College, Wenham, Mass., to study computer science.
Salutatorian is Sylvia Hayden, daughter of Beth Anna and Dana Carver of Patten. She was a member of the student council, National Honor Society and was vice president of NHS for three years. She served as manager for soccer and basketball teams and was a member of the French Club for three years. She took part in Cougarfest four years. She represented KHS at Dirigo Girls State. She has been a dance teacher two years and worked at Vacationland Estates. She is active in vacation Bible school and as a Team Kid. She will attend Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, Mass., to study dental hygiene.

Zachary Alexander, son of David and Gloreen Alexander of Patten. He will attend Gordon College to study mathematics.
Timothy Perry, son of Frank and Deena Perry of Sherman Mills. He will attend Husson College to study accounting.
Elijah Arbo, son of Dawn and Michael Arbo of Patten. He will attend Maine Maritime Academy to study marine engineering.
