Playing its tempo Saturday night got the St. Thomas men's basketball team to the NCAA Division III final four.
For the second straight game in the West/South Sectional playoffs, the Tommies faced a team with a rock-and-roll style of offense. And for the second straight game, the Tommies called the tune as they controlled Greensboro (N.C.) College 84-74 at Schoenecker Arena.
The victory put the Tommies (24-5) in the Division III final four at Buffalo (N.Y.) State. St. Thomas will play New York University (24-4) Friday night. In the other semifinal, Wittenberg (Ohio) College (29-1) will meet Lebanon Valley (Pa.) College (26-4). The winners meet for the national title Saturday night.
