Abstract

The basic TV Ears ($100), designed for mild to moderate hearing loss, boosts the signal by 120 decibels -- about three times more potent, the company says, than a standard headset. The transmitter connects to your TV (a plasma or LCD HDTV are fine too) and sends a wireless signal to the battery-powered headphones. The transmitter is also a docking station/charger for the headphones. TV Ears comes with a rechargeable battery that the company says should last two years.
