Five Neenah players lead revised all-league team

The Post-Crescent

After learning that an athlete broke training rules during the season, Fox Valley Association boys' soccer coaches changed their all-conference team, which was published in The Post-Crescent on Monday.

Neenah led the first team with five players: seniors Jack Beyer, Josh Henneman, Carl Holloway and Nate Hopkins, and junior Bill Haga. Appleton North had four first-team selections: seniors Ryan Kellenberger, Jeff Mares and Ryan McElrath, and junior Chris Kellett.

Also on the first team were Appleton East senior Steve Ross and sophomore Eric Van Hout, Appleton West senior Ben Rader and junior Kevin Murphy, Menasha junior Steve Shadick, Oshkosh North senior Paul Vanden Boogard, Oshkosh West seniors Mike Berndt and Josh Messerschmidt, and Fond du Lac senior Matt Sprader.

Nikos Efthimou of Appleton North was named coach of the year.
