Feature-packed Solo 9550 Notebook Delivers Desktop Performance in a Portable;
MobileStar Service Complements Integrated Wireless Capabilities
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway, Inc. (NYSE: GTW) today introduced the new Gateway Solo(R) 9550 portable computer, designed for customers who require the latest in notebook technology and innovation.
The Solo 9550's new Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Processor-M, huge 15.7-inch screen and leading-edge multimedia capabilities make it the notebook of choice for business and home users who need a powerful computer that also provides the freedom of mobility. The new notebook is certified Wi-Fi(TM) compliant with optional integrated 802.11b wireless capability, enabling customers to connect to a wireless Local Area Network at speeds that rival wired networks.
Gateway is providing MobileStar(SM) wireless service for 90 days (1) to customers who purchase any of its notebooks with wireless capability. MobileStar provides access to the Internet via a wireless network located in many public locations nationwide, including hotel lobbies, major airports and Starbucks(R) coffeehouses.
