Germany assured its leading place in medal standing after winning two gold medals on the penultimate day of the 18th Olympic Winter Games here on Saturday.
After their biathletes won the men's biathlon 4x7.5km relay earlier in the afternoon, the German sleders added the second title in the four-men bobsleigh.
The German biathletes, composed of Rico Gross, Peter Sendel, Sven Fischer and Frank Luck repeated their Olympic golden success at Nozawa Onsen.
Since the start of the race, the German team has led most of the way, except in the second leg when it slipped to second behind Latvian Ilmars Bricis.
The German team then regained the lead and crossed the finish line in a time of 1:21:36.2.
The silver medal went to Norway with 20.1 seconds behind. Russia finished third at 1:22:19.3.
Christoph Langen led his German team to win the four-man bobsleigh after three runs with a total of two minutes and 39.41 seconds.
