Allpuntland which closely monitors the political situation in the country has conducted investigations as to why senior officials of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia [TFG] have filed an official complaint against Members of the Federal Somali Parliament who are based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Allpuntland in its investigations made contact with some of the concerned Members of Parliament, officials of the TFG and a number of individuals with an insider knowledge about what these Members of Parliament were up to in Nairobi.
The TFG in its official complaint letter named a number of prominent MPs in Somali politics and the Federal Somali Parliament. This complaint letter which was addressed to Kenya's Foreign Affairs Ministry was sent via the Somali embassy in Nairobi. Some of the MPs that the TFG complained about were Professor Ali Muhammad Gedi, Dr. Hasan Abshir Farah, Dr. Ismail Abdi Gir, Salad Ali Jelle and Ahmad Asharo. These MPs played an important role in the successive governments in Somalia particularly the previous TFG led by Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmad. They are also very significant in the Federal Somali Parliament in that they were among the veterans found in parliament before the new group brought in as part of the coalition joined in.
The President of the TFG, Shaykh Sharif Shaykh Ahmad, has accused these MPS of being opposed to his government's policies and said he was disappointed these Somali MPs continued to stay in Kenya under a government that has good relations with his. It is worth remembering that the Kenyan government has been successful in reaching some agreements with the current government which it has in the past failed to achieve with the previous government...
