U.S. CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION VISITS EL SALVADOR

The U.S. Embassy issued the following press release:

A five-member delegation led by Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA) visited El Salvador on May 30.

In addition to meetings with President Saca, Vice President de Escobar, and top law enforcement officials at the Joint Intelligence Counter-Narcotics Center, the delegation visited a substance abuse rehabilitation community run by the NGO FUNDASALVA (Fundacion Salvadoreña).

There they spoke with recovering addicts, some of whom have been involved in gang activity.
