CHART TOPPERS
From chief executive salaries to beauty product editorial credits in May magazines, more is more. Here, a quantitative look AT THE MONTH IN BEAUTY.
Beauty editors filled the pages of May magazines with product-loaded editors' choice awards, a kaleidoscope of colorful summer makeup and a host of sun-protecting skin care. L'Oral Paris and Olay were big winners in the awards stakes, while Este Lauder scored big with a full-page story in Vogue introducing its newest spokesmodels. Revlon and Chanel garnered a lot of ink, too, for their new lipstick lines. Here, we tallied up product mentions in 15 leading publications,* not including cover credits, promotional offers or fashion story credits. At right, the 17 brands that garnered the most editorial ink.
