Roman Polanski was in the process of editing his latest film, The Ghost Writer, based on the novel by Robert Harris, when he was arrested last year. Considering that Polanski co-wrote the screenplay with Hams and that the central theme of the film is the USA's unscrupulous interference in the politics of other countries, the timing of his arrest does seem coincidental.
Just as ghost writers are not credited, the ghost writer of the title is never named. Played by Ewan McGregor, he is a loner, a completely anonymous man.
