Abstract

By that time he had already achieved prominence, partly through his work with the US Senate Special Committee on Aging and the Center for Law and Social Policy, and partly through his own writing. Along the way, he also helped found the Alzheimer's Disease Association, the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry, the American Federation for Aging Research and, in 1990, the International Longevity Center USA.
