After taking the summer off, the Belvidere Neighborhood Group will begin meeting again Wednesday at 6 p.m. (please note the new meeting time) at the Sullivan School on Draper Street. Guests include Mark Young, executive director of the Lowell Regional Wastewater Utility, who will give a presentation on the status of renovations being made to the wastewater treatment facility and the likely impact that current and future work will have on the neighborhood.
The group's second guest of the night, George Koumantzelis, will give a presentation on the Pow-Wow Oak tree on Clark Road, including the background history of the tree as well the successful effort put forth by Koumantzelis and others to have the tree certified and registered with The National Register of Historic Trees in Washington, D.C., at the American Forests headquarters.
