SHAUN MURPHY became only the fourth player in the 12-year history of the Benson and Hedges Championship to make a maximum break when he defeated Adrian Rosa in Mansfield.
The 19-year-old Northamptonshire starlet achieved his first competitive 147 in the second frame of his 5-2, last-32 victory. But Murphy started his magical max by fluking the first of his 15 reds into the green pocket.
He went on to add 14 more reds, 15 blacks and all the colours to complete snooker's perfect clearance.
