Abstract

An historical overview of the development of the American Journal of Dance Therapy is provided to honor the Journal's 25^sup th^ anniversary. Significant changes in organization, content, and format over the years, and trends in content are noted. These are viewed by the author as reflecting changes in the profession of dance/movement therapy, as well as in the evolution of the American Dance Therapy Association. Topics include: major decisions that influenced the evolution and development of the Journal; noteworthy articles reflecting new trends in clinical practice related to changes in health care; articles regarding professional issues; and pertinent research studies.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
