This Debenhams concession pales in comparison with Dune's full autumn 10 offer.

Dune's overall offer delivers on many of the key trends, but this Debenhams concession lacks its signature glitz. The styles on offer are limited to ankle-length brogue boots, brown knee-high boots and a black peep-toe court - all look great but the offer lacks depth.

The first thing in the customer eye line is a mid-season Sale rack at the front of this concession. While competitors have tried to hide any sign of discounting, Dune is marking down loud and proud here. The concession is cold and is unfortunate to be next to a goods delivery door that is open and letting in a draft when Drapers visits. Overall the concession is dark and lacks energy, in contrast to the bright and upbeat shopping experience in a typical Dune store.

Brogue boots are £99 while suede courts are £90 and over-the-knee boots £155. The prices aren't bad for the boots but the courts are too pricey.
A selection of shoes by Roland Cartier offers satin courts and glittery slingbacks for £45 for older customers. Part of Dune's value lies in its ambitious design detail and store experience and both of these are lacking here. Patent petrol boots are reduced to £59.40 from £99, considerably undercutting the retailer's core autumn boot offer.Score 17
