Nonprofit Accounting Basics, at www . nonprof itaccountingbasics . org, is an outreach of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs' (GWSCPA) Nonprofit Financial Accountability Task Force, a nationwide collaborative. The purpose is to provide a reference portal for small to medium-sized not-for-profit organizations to improve financial accountability, governance, and management. Resources cover a wide range of current nonprofit issues.
The homepage highlights selected materials under 'I work for/with a nonprofit," "Fm an accountant," and "Fm starting a new nonprofit." Topic headings provide an overview of the breadth of materials. Many handy worksheets and forms are also available. Articles and other resources are provided by website sponsors and invited contributors.
Nonprofit Accounting Primer
The section on starting a nonprofit addresses internal structure and external process information.
