Abstract

Important policy issues for urban planning and development arising from increased dependence on groundwater for water-supply provision in developing cities are examined. Ground-water specialists need to be much more articulate in arguing for the reform of current arrangements and removal of various mpediments if hydrogeological science is to play its proper role in urban infrastructure and land-use decision-making.
