Even at an early age, Michael Weisser knew he was destined to take up law. The coach of his traveling soccer team nicknamed him "The Lawyer."
Right out of Columbia Law School in 1998, the Long Island native went to work at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
However, after a couple of years at the firm, he moved to a venture capital fund and a portfolio company during the height of the dot-com craze. Weisser recalled that the shift into the venture capital world offered him experience in business and corporate development as well as general counsel work.
