Published on the last clay of 2008, this book is a welcome addition to a growing pile of new or updated textbooks on 'geographies of development' (e.g. Williams et al. 2009; Potter ef al. 2008). They each have a different approach to the topic and can therefore be used productively alongside each other. This book grew out of a distance study guide and as such it is structured to fit easily into an introductory undergraduate course.
