The Salt River Project is looking to build a set of double-circuit, 230-kV transmission lines about 20 miles long through the Southeast Valley near Phoenix to serve southeast Maricopa County and northern Pinal County in Arizona.
The proposed Abel-Moody transmission path is projected to be in service by the summer of 2012. The lines would connect with the Moody substation in Gilbert, Ariz., and run through Queen Creek, Ariz., to the Abel substation being built near Magna, Ariz.
