The first batch of 14 ministers was inaugurated by President Goodluck Jonathan at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja on Saturday.
The first cabinet which is a blend of 12 returnee ministers and 2 new ones is expected to bring steam to a new administration which many observers accused of a late start. All of them except two were returned to their former ministries.
Diezani Allison-Madueke (Petroleum)
She was born on 6th December, 1960 and is a holder of Bachelor's degree in Architecture (1987) from Howard University Washington DC, and a Masters of Business Administration from University of Cambridge UK, in 2003. She had an illustrious working career both locally and internationally in different sectors including railway, maritime, aviation and petroleum sectors. She rose to become the External Affairs Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria Limited from where she was appointed Honourable Minister of Transportation in 2007 and later became the Minister for Mines and Steel Development. She was Petroleum minister in the last cabinet that was dissolved in May. She is married.
Senator Bala Mohammed (FCT)
He was born on October 5, 1958 at Alkaleri in the present Bauchi State. He is a holder of B.A (Hons) degree in English from University of Maiduguri (1982) and has had a rich working career in the public sector. He later practiced journalism and became the News Editor of The Mirage newspaper in Jos. He was a serving Senator when he was appointed FCT Minister in the last cabinet that was dissolved in May. He is married.
