In this article Bob Seal shows how blogging can be about networking and connecting directly with people to increase your business profile. (And profits!)
What is blogging?
Blog is a mix of the words "web" and "log".
In fact "weblog" was the original term used for "diary" or "journal" on the internet. If you're interested in the background of weblogs check the link below.

Why blog?
The short answer is that it's for networking and creating an awareness of what your business can offer.
Blogging is also useful because you can bypass the conventional/traditional mediaand middle people, in general-to reach an authence. This brings advantages and disadvantages. What you write will be seen, and perhaps responded to within seconds of you uploading it to your blog. This means you need to edit and correct your thoughts before loading it onto the blog. This seems simple, but many fall into the trap of not self-editing. Whatever you post is instantly available to the world and it can hang around in cyberspace for years.
Use blogging as a way to expand your business network. You can use blogs to show people how you use a method or product. Find some real-life examples of what you do when working with your clients. Take photographs or make a video and upload the items as a personal story or method. Give links to others who are doing things that might be useful to your clients. I see a lot of companies taking the one-step-removed approach, in that they are not making a personal approach. Blogging seems to work best when people feel some sort of connection with YOU as a person and what you are saying.
Don't try the straight SELL, SELL, SELL approach. If you do a heavy sales pitch it will be seen through and all the effort you have put into building trust is lost.
