In 2009, Mark Salamango was working at Bingham Farms-based technology company Bossdev Inc., now MartinJay Digital Inc., when his friend Jim Overholt, chief roboticist for the U.S. Army, shared an idea with him: to create a living laboratory where people can work side by side with robots and interact and learn about them.
