Zeebox, the brainchild of the developer of the BBC iPlayer, has hired PR support as it aims to capitalise on the popularity of internet TVs.
The new app by Anthony Rose allows users to turn their tablet or smart phone into a TV control. Users can pause programmes and change to the show their friends are chatting about on its social media feed, as well as buy products advertised on TV.
Zeebox is due to launch this autumn and TVC has been called in to handle the launch and full PR programme.

The company aims to get people watching more live TV through tie-ins with advertisers and programmers, allowing people to interact with what they are watching through clickable tags.
TVC MD Nicky MinterGreen, who heads up the account, said : 'We will engage with consumers by raising awareness of Zeebox through campaigns, events and consumer-friendly research into how people feel about the characters that they watch on TV.
'We will also target early adopters for technology and tech journalists, and will give plenty of access to Anthony for in-depth interviews.'
