The Alberta Utilities Commission has approved the route of AltaLink Management and Epcor Distribution & Transmission's 83km Heartland transmission project. The sponsors plan to finance the C$610 million ($600.8 million) line with 65% debt and 35% equity, subject to approval by the AUC. The province's ratepayers cover the cost of the project through a commission-approved transmission tariff that is added to bills.
