Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify career satisfaction levels of former student athletes based on their student athlete role identification, gender, ethnicity, and sport played. This study used the Student Athlete Career Satisfaction Survey as a tool to determine levels of career satisfaction for each of the aforementioned variables. The anticipated outcome was that there are no significant differences in career satisfaction levels of former student athletes based on student athlete role identification, gender, ethnicity, and sport played. However, the study revealed that former student athletes have moderately high levels of career satisfaction. These findings may be helpful to student athletes, future student athletes, and people who work with student athletes in determining if participation in college athletics results in high levels of career satisfaction.
