Because gosh, why would a pretty country crossover princess put up with such ill-fitting career-casuals for any longer than the length of your average pop song?
Office drones of the world, take note: Taylor Swift is just like you. She endures annoying co-workers! She rides a bus! She drinks water from a water cooler! Why, she even watches cat videos on the job - albeit ones featuring her very own famous kitty Meredith!
She does all these things in her new video for "Ours," at least. (Because gosh, why would a pretty country crossover princess put up with such ill-fitting career-casuals for any longer than the length of your average pop song?)
As reported by E!, the concept for "Ours," which had its official premiere on the network, was Swift's own, and the project saw her re-teaming with the same director who helmed previous video Mean, Declan Whitebloom. "I had a very definitive idea of what I wanted this video to be," Swift said to E!
And while we can't help but feel a little disappointed that Swift and Whitebloom didn't include anything involving Swift and her bandmates smashing printers in a farmer's field (somebody please send her a copy of Office Space before she starts work on her next video), there is one detail we can definitely get behind: Friday Night Lights' Zach "Matt Saracen" Gilford plays the pop star's boyfriend, the one warm and fuzzy thing that helps her make it through the day.
"Ours" appears as a bonus track on Swift's Speak Now, and Billboard's Woman of the Year for 2011 debuted the song live on the CMA Awards in November.
