RATINGS ANALYSIS: ITV1 headed towards 2011 with a flourish, with The X Factor just squeezing out Strictly and a new drama trouncing BBC1, says Stephen Price
As the janitor sweeps the floor of an empty, echoey Wembley Arena and the jungle caretaker hoovers up the detritus of the camp, Blackpool finds it has the stage to itself and is buffing up the sequins for one of the remaining big shindigs of the year.
Another year, another autumn and another million column inches about the relative merits of dancing and dinging has almost passed leaving scribes with literally nothing to talk about.
But fear not, with The Voice early in 2012 and Dancing On Ice returning immediately in the New Year, those inches won't be empty for long.
On Monday, ITV1 squeezed another hour out of I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out...
