Twelve prize winners were awarded a total of $25,000 in cash, as well as future recital and concerto engagements in the 201 1 Virginia Waring International Piano Competition. Forty-two pianists under the age of 1 8 competed in the seven-day event.
Tristan Teo, 13, of West Vancouver, British Columbia, a student of Sasha Starcevich, took first place in both the Intermediate Solo and Concerto Divisions, winning $6,000 in prize money and concert engagements...
