From graduating magna cum laude from Yale University, working on Wall Street, getting an MBA with distinction from Harvard University and co-founding ChrysCapital- one of the most successful private equity firms in India, Ashish Dhawan has a resume worthy of envy.
However, two years ago, he transitioned from a venture capitalist to a venture philanthropist by setting up Central Square Foundation (CSF), an organisation which supports social entrepreneurs with the mission of transforming the Indian education system. " Two years back, India took a global test and we came second to last in terms of education. On the one hand we're talking about being a superpower and on the other we have an education system that's worse than other emerging countries. There's immense work to be done in this sector," says Dhawan.
