BOTH the country's Olympic medallists were aptly honoured as the Olympians of the Year last night.
Adding to already overflowing award collections for Lee Chong Wei and Pandelela Rinong Pamg since they delivered Malaysia's only medals at the London Olympics in August, this was one honour both could not be denied.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah presented the awards to the winners. Both Chong Wei and Pandelela received RM10,000 each.
Chong Wei won the badminton men's singles silver medal, his second in succession after falling in the final against China's Lin Dan in the Beijing Olympics four years ago.
