FRIENDLY Fires proudly hold the title of ones-to-watch in the UK at the moment. I say proudly, maybe it's more warily, as the weight of expectation could prove a poisoned chalice.
They're at the forefront of the latest dance-music-it's-okay-for-indie-kids-to-like revolution. Like the Klaxons before them, they're just fluorescent enough to keep club kids interested, but their real commitment is to sparkling, modern pop.
Ear-marked as rising stars, the band is set to play Mountford Hall as part of the NME Tour next Thursday.
It's a dream come true for the St Albans trio.
