THE N-Gage is here. The new mobile game deck device for mobile phone users to enjoy interactive games while on the move was launched last week by Nokia (M) Sdn Bhd.
Nokia Malaysia's managing director Barry Lee claimed the N-Gage is the first mobile and connected game deck to feature online high- quality three- dimensional (3-D) multi-player game on Bluetooth and general packet radio services (GPRS).
Lee said a key feature is its wireless multi-player gaming platform, which allows for both local and remote gaming.
"What exactly does this mean for mobile phone users and gamers? In one word, it means mobility," he said.
"Imagine that you can now experience the joys of gaming while riding on a train or even while waiting. No longer will you be confined to the gaming station in your living room or personal computer while helping Lara Croft find her latest treasure across the globe."
Realising that the success of mobile gaming depends on the availability of high-quality game titles in the marketplace, Nokia is working with video games publishers and developers such as Activision, Eidos, Sega, Taito and THQ to provide high-quality games to the marketplace, Lee added.
