SUSPENDING the Malaysian AAU - their reply to the show cause letter notwithstanding - and appointing an ad hoc committee seem to be foregone conclusions.
And that's the easy part.
The difficult and more crucial one will be to pick the right candidates for the task that could change the complexion of the sport, and the template for sports administration.
This is a job for officials who are blessed with both the moral fibre and the intellectual credibility.
One name keeps coming up each time there are discussions of an ad hoc committee. That would of course be Olympic Council of Malaysia vice president Datuk Dr Mani Jegathesan for chairman.
Now two more names are being bandied about to make up the committee. They are Major General (Rtd) Datuk Shahruddin Ali, and Malaysian Cricket Association secretary Karu Selvaratnam.
