There is so much Pittsburgh influence in the show that made Paul Reiser a star, it's a wonder that it wasn't called "Mad About Yinz."
Reiser is a New York City native who, like Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David and others, after becoming famous is returning to his stand-up comedy roots with a tour that brings him to Pittsburgh.
The 412 area is a key one for Reiser, who started his climb to fame with a colorful role in 1982's "Diner," made when he was 25. After that, he had notable supporting roles in "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Aliens." Then, in 1992, he created the hit TV show "Mad About You," pairing himself with Helen Hunt as a married couple.
By then, Reiser had settled into married life with the former Paula Ravets.
