Scat Jackson is one of the city's most highly regarded jazz musicians, but Scat is much prouder of being the patriarch of a three-generation family of musicians.
His sons, Billy on bass and Mark on drums, have toured the world in small combos and as members of back-up bands touring with megastars.
Recently, Billy was in the pit for both "Five Guys Named Mo" and "Jelly's Last Roll" on Broadway. Mark has teamed up with Milwaukeeans trumpeter Brian Lynch and pianist David Hazeltine to play New York's famed Blue Note four nights a week.
The sons formed trios with Scat's guitar, but they could never get their talented father to hit the big time with them.
