UW Law ranks 29, Marquette as 102 in 2022 Best Law Schools rankings

New nationwide law-school rankings list UW Law School as tied for the 29th best law school in the country, while Marquette University Law School remains at no. 102.
U.S. News & World Report released its 2022 Best Law Schools list on Tuesday.The rankings measure 193 law schools accredited by the American Bar Association.The methods changed in 2022 to take into account the average debt incurred by students.
UW Law School ranked no. 29 in Best Law Schools, tied with Boston College.It was a rise in the ranks from last year, according to a press release from the school. It said UW Law tookthe no. 38 spot on the 2021 edition of the rankings.
In a statement, UW Law School Dean Dan Tokaji said the 2022 ranking reflects the university's outstanding value, excellent career outcomes, faculty reputation and student credentials.
UW Law's full-time tuition is $27,704 for in-state students and $46,400 for out-of-state students.
Marquette University Law School tied withsix other schoolsfor the no. 102 spot, which is the same ranking it received last year. The University of New Mexico; the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.; Texas Tech University; Syracuse University; Drake University; and the School of Law at CUNY were the other contendersranked as 102. Marquette's tuition is listed at $48,980.
Yale Law School ranked no. 1 on the list, followed by Stanford University and Harvard University.These schools also took the top spots in the 2021 rankings, but the schools in spots No. 6 through No. 12 had some small changes in 2022.
