Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the notion of the subject from the theoretical perspectives of Edgar Morin and Zygmunt Bauman, identifying their contributions to the comprehension of modern society. Therefore, we conducted a review and literature review of qualitative nature, built and guided by the principles of the complex thought: the dialogic principle, recursive and hologramatic. As delimitation of the object, we prioritize three works of each author: La Tête bien faite (2000), Science avec Conscience (2007) and Les Sept saviors nécessaires à l'éducation du futur (2010), by Morin. The works Postmodernity and its discontents (1998), Identity: Conversations with Benedetto Vecchi (2005) and 44 letters from The Liquid Modern World (2011), by Bauman. As a result it was observed that for both Bauman as to Morin, the subject formation does not occur in a simplified manner, but from a complex relation involving the echo self-organization which can lead the formation of a consciousness of a subject able to establish itself in history. The fight against the fragmentation of the subject in this liquid society reductive and simplifying is the authors' yearning. Another subject needs to be built. Released from the standardizations that prevents him from being himself.
