Abstract

The purpose of this project was to write a grant proposal to fund a parent program with reentry Latino youth by providing skills that will support the parents efforts to advocate for their children. The parent program is designed to teach the parents how to navigate the governmental systems and a pyschoeducation approach with the support of a Clinical Social Worker. It is expected that children with age appropriate services would promote successful in rehabilitation and integrate back into society. As for parents they will learn protective factors to assure the safety of their children. The host agency is El Centro Del Pueblo, a community agency that is located in downtown Los Angeles, California, specifically in Echo Park. The identified funding source for this program is the California Community Foundation. The actual submission and the funding of this grant proposal was not a required for the successful completion of this project.
