This supplement of Croatian Review of Rehabilitation Research (Volume 49) provides an overview of some of the scientific and professional papers presented at the 8th International Scientific Conference "Research in Education and Rehabilitation Sciences", organized by the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia on September 27-29, 2013.
The current situation in the field of educational and rehabilitation sciences shows increase in the interest for the field primarily initiated through recognition and acceptance of standards ensuring the respect of human rights as a significant prerequisite for a social participation of all members of the society.
Authors of the papers were not only educational rehabilitators and special teachers, but also psychologists, medical doctors, and different other professionals, since our intent was to point out in this way the necessity of multidisciplinary team approach to the field.
Covering scientific topics such as new horizons in social inclusion, early intervention support programs, expressive arts therapy, quality of family life, rehabilitation modalities, this issue will certainly be of interest to all specialists who work in the field of educational rehabilitation.
We would like to thank all colleagues who contributed with their papers to this special issue of Croatian Review of Rehabilitation Research. Our special thanks are to the Editors-in-Chief and the Editorial Board of Croatian Review of Rehabilitation Research for the proposal to publish these papers in this supplement of Croatian Review of Rehabilitation Research.
