Abstract
Objective: To determine the perception of musculoskeletal discomfort and postural risk in workers of an institution of higher education.
Materials and Methods: descriptive, cross-sectional study in 302 workers in the administrative and operational. Simple random sampling was carried out. musculoskeletal discomforts in 9 body regions were dened using the Nordic questionnaire. Using method
OWAS to analyze the standpoint of back, legs and arms and charge raised by workers during their work task, allowing to estimate the risk for musculoskeletal disorders. Using the program SPSS 18 was descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis, getting the odd ratios of the relationship between the positions taken and the level of risk.
Results: The perception in the last 12 months of musculoskeletal pain in the cervical, dorsal and lumbar region, reported at a 37.4 % and 31.8 % and 37.7 % of workers, respectively.
