Abstract
This article conceptualizes the evolution of some dimensions of public space in contemporary cities. In this sense, the concepts hybrid, sensible, participatory, opportunity and informal are associated with public spaces for the purpose of identifying new ways of understanding and conceiving the urban space, sometimes, outside of established and purely disciplinary channels of architecture and urbanism. We mainly observe new trends in creating public space under the inuence of new technologies. Well, these aect a change of perception, foster citizen participation in the processes and lead to changes in the conguration and management of public spaces. So we compile and evaluate innovative processes of public space conguration in the context of technological and social change.
