Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the levels of impulsivity and the styles of decision making of university students, studying at the sports department, according to some variables. 195 students, studying in Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, P.E. and Sports High School, departments of P.E Teaching and Sports ' Management, have participated in the research. While Rathus Impulsivity Inventory has been used for the determination of the impulsivity levels of participants, the Scale of the Decision Strategies has been used for the determination of the decision making styles. In the SPSS 22.0 for Windows program, Independent t test, Mann Whitney U analysis, One Way Anova Analysis and Kruskal Wallis H analysis have been used for the statistical analysis of the gathered data. It has been determined at the end of the research that the impulsivity levels of students do not statistically demonstrate a meaningful difference according to variables of gender, departments of their education and doing sports with license (p>0.05). It has also been found out that the decision making styles of students do not statistically demonstrate a meaningful difference according to variables of gender, departments of their education and doing sports with license (p>0.05). As a result it has been decided that the gender, departments of their education and doing sports with license are not significant on the impulsivity levels and the decision making styles of the students, studying at the sports departments.
