Abstract
Local anesthetic (LA) toxicity is the most fatal complication of peripheral nerve block techniques. Inadverdent intravascular administration or high-dose use of LAs above safety margin are the main causes of toxicity. In recent years, some case reports about successful treatment of LA toxicity with lipid infusion exist in the literature which were unresponsive to standart resuscitation efforts. We aimed to report a patient who suffered from a LA toxicity after sciatic + femoral nerve block for removal of an infected knee prothesis and successfully treated with lipid infusion before development of cardiac arrest.
