Abstract

Companies operating in emerging economies use technology transfer as a development mechanism of its indigenous technological capacity. Thus may generate innovations and insert in a competitive market. In this context, the purpose of this article is to build a measurement system, whose indicators allow measuring the indigenous technological capacity of pharmaceutical companies in the sector. Based on the theoretical framework we were defined two technological training categories considered capable of measuring this training. They are: training in R & D / innovation and training in learning / human resources. To check the suitability of the measuring system to the article proposal, a case study was conducted in a pharmaceutical company producing biopharmaceuticals, under the Ministry of Health. The survey results suggested that the indicators created for the measurement system is suitable for measure this type of technological capability. Also, due to the fact that the company has studied its reasoned growth in technology transfers, showed the impact that such transfers had on the behavior of these indicators. Revealed that there was evolution of the main points assessed, however, also signaled some points that need a greater incentive, so be a better use of technology transfers to leveraging the native technology training company.
