Abstract

This article attempted to make an inventory regarding the initial training of teachers of French as a Foreign Language in two Arab countries, namely Jordan and Bahrain, where French is taught as a third language.

In Jordan and Bahrain, French is taught as a mandatory or non-mandatory subject in schools and universities depending on the cooperation agreements that exist between France and these two countries.

It is important that the teachers who are in charge of the spread of French language in their own countries take into account both cultural and educational backgrounds. In fact, most of them were very often new French speakers in so far as most of them have just learned the language during their studies at university.
