Abstract

[...]we tried to determine whether idebenone could reduce apoptosis induced by mutant MYOC gene. The expression levels of CHOP and caspase-3 in mMYOC cells treated by idebenone were slightly higher than those in mMYOC cells treated with CHOP-siRNA, without statistical significance (t = -3.05, P = 0.065 and t = -0.62, P = 0.731, respectively) [Figure 1]a and [Figure 1]b. Discussion The product of the MYOC gene plays an important role in protein metabolism and secretion pathways.
